Army/Air Force (1924 - 1962)

Trainer: Through World War II, new pilots were first trained in Primary Trainers (PT), then moved to Basic Trainers (BT) and finally Advanced Trainers (AT).  After World War II, the U.S. Air Force changed the designation to simply "T" for Trainer.
