The Aircraft

First flown in 1936, the Waco UPF was developed from the UMF of 1934.  Several UPF aircraft were purchased by the U.S. Army Air Force in 1940 and designated the PT-14.

UPF was Waco shorthand for Continental R-670 (U) powered, open (P) tandem cockpit (F).
