History

1909: Glenn L. Martin flies his first aircraft in Santa Ana, California.

1915: Glenn Martin stars with Mary Pickford and his Model T plane in A Girl of Yesterday.

1916: The Glenn L. Martin Company merges with the Wright Company.  The two companies separate in 1917 and Martin moves to Ohio.

1928: The Glenn L. Martin Company moves to Baltimore, Maryland.

1932: The Martin YB-10 becomes the world's fastest bomber.

1960: Martin ceases aircraft production to focus on missiles.

1961: Martin merges with American-Marietta (a non-aerospace company) to form Martin-Marietta.

1993: Martin-Marietta acquires General Dynamics' aerospace division.

1995: Lockheed and Martin Marietta merge to form Lockheed Martin.
