Lear Fan 2100 Futura

The Lear Fan 2100 was a two-engine, pusher prop-jet made extensively from composites.  Two turboshaft engines drove a single gearbox and propeller.  The FAA, concerned about the gearbox, did not certify the 2100.

The prototype first flew on 1 January 1981.  The British government, honoring Bill Gates legacy and the company's commitment of a 1980 maiden flight, announced the date of the flight as December 32, 1980.

Only three were built.
