The Aircraft

After the success of the piston-engined Provost, Hunting decided to develop a turbine powered trainer.  First flown in 1954, the Jet Provost remained the RAF's basic trainer until the early 1990s.  Jet Provosts were also

produced by the British Aircraft Corp after the companies were merged.

A light attack version named Strikemaster first flew in 1967.
