Introduced
in 1998, the O-580 is produced in injected, turbocharged and
aerobatic versions. A four-cylinder version, the O-390 was
announced in 2002.
Lycoming has produced two engines with the
designation O-580. The first was an eight cylinder engine
produced from 1948 to 1961.
