Sikorsky HH-52 Seaguard

The Aircraft

The Sikorsky S-62 was developed by using the main and tail rotor systems from the S-55 (H-19) in a new amphibious hull with a new turboshaft engine.  The prototype first flew in 1958.

The U.S. Coast Guard adopted the S-62 for search and rescue duties under the designation HH-52 Seaguard in 1963.
