de Havilland Gipsy Major

The Engine Specifications 
 
In 1931, designer Frank Halford increased the bore of the Gipsy III from 114 to 118 mm.  The resulting engine was known as the Gipsy IIIA or the Gipsy Major.  De Havilland produced over 14,500 Gipsy Majors, over half the total production of all Gipsy engines.

Gipsy Majors acquired by the U.S. Army were designated as the L-375.
