      Missile: In 1963, the U.S.
Air Force again changed its designation system for missiles.  A three
character system was used.  The first character is for the type of
launch ("A" for air, "C" for container, "M"
for mobile, "B" for multiple, etc.).  The second character denotes the mission
("D" for decoy, "G" for ground attack, "I"
for interception, "Q" for drone, etc.).  The third
character is "M" for missile.  The sequence number was
      restarted.
For example the TM-61 Matador was redesignated the MGM-1
(Mobile-launched Ground attack Missile number 1).
